Philile using the bars outside his home

Philile is determined to maintain strength in his legs – with or without high-tech equipment.

Parallel bars

Philile is a vibrant and social man who struggles to walk due to a movement disorder.  With the support of CBM’s partners at the Zithulele Hospital Rehab Centre, Philile and his mom constructed parallel bars right outside their house.

Made with tree branches from around their home, the creative parallel bars may not be high-tech but they provide Philile with the tools to exercise his legs every day right outside his home.
